Hobin Rood — How to Fish Achievement Guide
Official requirement: kill a creature with an arrow. Steam's exact spelling is “Hobin Rood”.
Quick answer
Kill a creature with an arrow. Steam's list spells the name Hobin Rood and that exact spelling is what you will see on your profile if these pages use it. A non-lethal hit or buying the weapon does not count — the requirement is the kill itself.
The weapon behind it
Official patch notes name the bow category and its cosmetics: patch 1.1.2 adds “2 new skins for the bow.” How you obtain the bow and its arrows (shop path, quest path) is not officially documented, so this page avoids naming a fixed provider.
What counts
- An arrow that lands the killing blow on a creature — any creature counts as “a creature” unless a future patch says otherwise.
- Dynamite, guns, melee or cooking do not satisfy the requirement.
- The kill mode text mirrors the launch achievement chain's kill wording (e.g. Everyone's dream — “kill a seagull with dynamite”), where the tool in the description is the gate.
Timing notes
The achievement batch arrived with The Islet Update (September 28, 2026); the bow skins landed September 29 (1.1.2). On old builds you may not be able to complete the weapon hunt at all — update first (restart Steam for the patch, per the dev note).
