How to Fish Fishipedia
Patch 1.1.3 quietly made collection hunting easier: the Fishipedia now shows the bait after you have killed a species once.
What is the Fishipedia?
The Fishipedia is How to Fish's in-game encyclopedia of creatures. The game even hangs an achievement on it: Fishipedia — “find and kill all drip creatures.” Entries track the species you have encountered; the collection loop feeds the drip hunt.
The 1.1.3 change (official wording)
Patch 1.1.3, September 29, 2026: “Now displays name of bait to catch the fish in the fishipedia (shown after you've killed it once).” The developer framed it as one small patch aimed at making it easier to hunt for drip creatures.
How to use it
- Kill each species at least once through normal play.
- Re-open its Fishipedia entry and read the displayed bait.
- Fish that bait while hunting that species' drip variant.
- Cross-check any older community bait table against what your own Fishipedia shows — the in-game display is first-party for the current build.
Why older guides may now disagree
Before 1.1.3 bait names were invisible in-game, so guides collected them manually and labeled them as community data. Some of those lists were built on different builds (and 1.1.2 even fixed a bait spawn that could never produce Tench). Expect your own encyclopedia to be the better source from this patch onward.
